Rules for Hosting the International Symposium on Dry Process

  • (Purpose)
    Article 1The purpose of these rules is to ensure that the International Symposium on Dry Process, hosted by the Organizing Committee for the relevant year’s symposium, is conducted in a fair and appropriate manner.
  • (Definitions)
    Article 2In these rules, “presentations” refers to both invited presentations and general presentations (including oral presentations and poster presentations).
    2 In these rules, “participants” refers to guest speakers, general presenters and persons invited by the Organizing Committee, as well as all persons involved in discussions, attending to symposium, gathering information or engaging in other activities at the symposium venue.
    3 In these rules, “presenters” refers to persons presenting invited presentations and general presentations (including oral presentations and poster presentations) at the symposium.
  • (Symposium Registration Fee)
    Article 3Participants in the symposium must pay the specified registration fee after registering for participation. This provision shall not apply to participants exempt from the said fee by the Organizing Committee.
  • (Presentation Requirements)
    Article 4General presenters shall be selected to present their papers at some adequate sessions (including oral presentation sessions and poster presentation sessions) after registering and submitting a draft abstract for peer-review by the Program Committee hosting the relevant year’s symposium (hereinafter referred to as the Program Committee). However, this shall only apply to persons that become participants of the said symposium in accordance with the provisions of the preceding Article.
    2 Upon nomination by the Program Committee, the Organizing Committee shall approve and invite guest speakers to present their papers as invited presentations.
  • (Number of Symposium Presentations)
    Article 5Presenters shall present only one paper at the symposium, except when specifically approved otherwise by the Program Committee.
  • (Abstract)
    Article 6The content of contributions submitted for presentation shall comply with the scope of the symposium outlined in the Abstract Submission Guidelines, and a draft abstract shall also be prepared in accordance with the said Abstract Submission Guidelines.
    2 Papers accepted by the Program Committee shall appear on proceedings that will be distributed to participants at the symposium site. Copyright to these proceedings shall reside with The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
  • (Duration of Presentations)
    Article 7Each general presentation shall run for 20 minutes in the case of oral presentations (15-minute presentation and 5 minutes of questions and answers) and 100 minutes for poster presentations, unless specified by the Program Committee.
    2 Each invited presentations hall run for 40 minutes (35-minute presentation and 5 minutes of questions and answers) unless specified by the Program Committee.
    3 The duration of presentations shall be monitored by a chairperson designated by the Program Committee. Presenters shall follow the instructions of the said chairperson.
  • (Compliance at Time of Submission and Measures for Non-Compliance)
    Article 8The Program Committee may reject the registration of any contributions submitted for presentation deemed by the same committee to contain any content that is beyond the scope of the symposium, substantially deviates from the scope of the symposium, contrary to the interests of other participants, or likely to damage the integrity or credibility of the symposium.
  • (Compliance at Time of Presentation and Measures for Non-Compliance)
    Article 9The Organizing Committee may discuss and vote to impose any of the following measures on presenters reported by the Program Committee for either presenting or discussing content that violates the provisions of the preceding Article or ignoring the instructions of the chairperson during invited presentations or general presentations.
    (1) Verbal caution
    (2) Written warning
    (3) Ban on presenting at the symposium
    2 Any matters not covered by these rules shall be decided by the Organizing Committee.
  • (Compliance by Participants and Measures for Non-Compliance)
    Article 10Participants or persons registering to participate in the symposium must not announce, express or disclose anything before, during or after the symposium that may defame organizations or other groups to which the participant or other participants belong, is likely to damage the integrity and credibility of the symposium, or is in any other way contrary to public interest.
    2 The Organizing Committee may discuss and vote to impose any of the following measures on participants or persons registering to participate in the symposium who violate the provisions of the preceding paragraph.
    (1) Verbal caution
    (2) Written warning
    (3) Ban on presenting at the symposium
    3 The Organizing Committee shall discuss and take all necessary measures if any disputes pertaining to matters other than the compliance matters specified in these rules arise in relation to participants or persons registering to participate in the symposium.
  • (Amendment, Repeal or Renewal of these Rules)
    Article 11Any amendment or repeal of these rules shall be decided by a majority vote of the Organizing Committee.
    2 In the absence of a resolution by the Organizing Committee to repeal these rules, these rules shall be automatically renewed and applied by the following year’s Organizing Committee.
